Suzlon Energy Shares Decline Despite Strong Q1 Earnings and CFO Resignation
Suzlon Energy reported a 7.3% rise in consolidated net profit to ₹324.32 crore for the June quarter, up from ₹302.29 crore a year earlier. Revenue surged 55% to ₹3,117.33 crore, driven by robust demand and execution capabilities. EBITDA climbed to ₹599 crore from ₹370 crore in the prior-year period.
The company secured 1 GW of new orders, expanding its total order book to 5.7 GW. Vice Chairman Girish Tanti highlighted growing demand from C&I and PSU customers, underscoring confidence in Suzlon's technology leadership.
CFO Himanshu Mody resigned effective immediately, following the unwinding of a ₹630 crore Deferred Tax Asset, which resulted in a non-cash accounting charge of ₹134 crore this quarter. The board approved five-year reappointments for Vinod R Tanti as Chairman and Managing Director and Girish R Tanti as Executive Director.
